Healthy Snacks

I am a big snacker, but if you snack right, it isn't bad for you.  When I come home from school I always crave a small snack that will get me through the next three or so hours of homework and studying, these are some of my favorite snacks...

Just Corn
If you've ever had freeze-dried fruit, this is very similar but has more of a salty flavoring.  It is 100% corn, but dried and delicious.  One pack is only like fifty calories and it tastes like it isn't good for you, but it gives an entire serving of a vegetable, so it must be!

Mini Babybel
Whenever I have a salt craving these are what I run for.  One mini Babybel satisfies the craving to rip open a bag of chips.  Plus peeling the wax wrapper around it is always a good time.  I know cheese isn't super healthy, but if you eat it in proportion like the mini Babybel, it is a perfect snack.

Cherry Tomatos and Balsamic Vinegar
This snack is great for the end of the summer since cherry tomatoes are in their prime.  I just slice a few tomatoes in half, drizzle some balsamic, (sometimes add onion), and binge.  You honestly cannot eat enough of this snack for it to be bad for you.

If you haven't heard of this brand, seriously check them out.  Inside the package is a sheet with at least 16 circles of little fruit flavored gummy things that remind me of a super healthy version of a fruit rollup (thats the only way I can think to describe it).  One pack is less than 100 calories and it is so full and nutritious.  I liked the site above, you should consider checking out the business.

Frozen Yogurt Bars
On these last weeks of summer weather, what better to cool down than a frozen yogurt bar.  Filling, delicious, and refreshing!

Maya Kaimal Naan Chips
I've had many versions of naan chips, but these are far my favorite.  They're very unique tasting, which is what I like, and they satisfy the crunch craving I constantly have.

Back to Basics

I don't want to be the debbie downer that summer is coming to an end, but I recently started my back to school shopping.  I picked up a lot of basic things I would need for the school year, and in my opinion, combining basic pieces of clothing creates a cute and effortless style.  Everyone needs a plain V-neck in their wardrobe for the year, as well as a solid pair of jeans.  Converse are my favorite shoe for the year since they're comfortable and are wearable all four seasons.  Lastly, I picked up this great jacket from J. Crew, which I am in love with.  The price tag was more on the expensive side, but I will be wearing it 24/7 so buying it was justifiable.  I know many people start up school again soon, so enjoy these final weeks of summer!

August Playlist

I can't believe we are already well into August.  As of now I have exactly one month until school starts up again, which is pretty scary.  My August playlist is one I'm actually really enjoying.  I'd like to start off by mentioning that any song by Fetty Wap is a good song, I've especially been enjoying 679.  Come On Eileen is such a throwback, but it is a jam and has been on replay on my phone.  The reason Watch Me is on this list is because once you learn the whole dance to the song, it becomes much more enjoyable when you hear it because you can dance along.  As always, I'm in need of music suggestions.  Which songs have you been listening to?

Style Icon: Blake Lively

It's that time of the month again, style icon time.  If you've been following my blog, every month I choose a celebrity whose style I think is cool, unique, or picturesque and throw in a few photos of them and choose my favorite look of theirs.  I'd love hearing which look is your favorite, so take a look at this month's style icon Blake Lively below, and let me know.

This last look is my favorite of the six.  I love black outfits, and think the jumper is a really cool choice paired with the white shirt.  Her cross body is very chic and I'm also a fan of the sunglasses. Look number two is also adorable, but I chose look six because look two has an advantage since it is dressier.  Which look is your favorite??

Back to School Looks

{Back to School Looks}

I don't go back to school until September 8th; however, I know some people starting school this Monday (tomorrow).  Whenever you go back, it can't hurt to start planning an outfit and making purchases for the Fall.  My style has seemed to become a bit preppier, but I still wouldn't call myself preppy.  I think the outfit with the ripped jeans and tank top is a good, classy look for girls like me who aren't total hipsters, but not full on preps either.  The middle outfit fits the edgy/ hipster/ tumblr-esque type person depending on how you style the look.  For you preps, the last outfit is simple and cute, and would make a good impression on the first day.  I also included some shoes, bags, and a watch- all items I would say are worth purchasing before school begins.  Enjoy the rest of your summer vacation!

Pattern Pants

Not only do these pants have a super fun pattern, but they are so flattering. Seriously, any body type could try them on and they would look good.  The detailing by the ankles is really unique and probably my favorite part about the pants.  All I did was wear a white tank top with them since the pattern is already busy, and added sunglasses and a cross body for a cute summer outfit.

Massachusetts has been really hot and muggy this week so I could only keep these pants on until around 10:30 when the sun was really shining, but I got to wear them out to breakfast and to do a few errands so they got some good use.  I'm going to the beach later today to cool off from the heat and cannot wait to take a dip.

Bedroom Tour

{Room Tour}

Lately I've been following bloggers showing pictures of their kitchens or living rooms, or overall redecorating their houses.  I love seeing how different personalities style different living spaces and gaining ideas from various bloggers.  Recently I did a bit of redecorating in my bedroom, and now that it is complete, I decided to share it.  I should mention the color scheme is mostly blue, orange, and red, with some grey.

Here is the grey area of my room.  That bench/ cushion thing folds open and I keep binders and other random things in it.  Inside the two bins, I keep stuff that I often use with friends like nail polish or magazines.

The bin in the corner I use for laundry, and right next to it I keep my charger.

I live on the third floor of my house, and I'm the only one, so my door is see through.  Sometimes I keep a curtain on it, but I like it open too.

My couch has a drape over it that I saw one day in Target, I think its the coolest thing ever.

I'm obsessed with this table and the bin on top, its probably my favorite part of my room.

I have two beds, I sleep on the one with the laptop.  These sheets are the most perfect things ever, the pattern is very cool.  I couldn't find them online, but if you're interested in hunting them down, they're Cynthia Rowley.
